It needs to be long enough to add value…
I was recently asked how detailed any content marketing needs to be to encourage customers and also help with website SEO, because it does take time to produce good material.
Unfortunately for the business, it must be long and detailed enough to add real value for the reader, and that often means over 3,000 words.
Articles and blogs over 3,000 words get 3x as much traffic and 4x as many shares as shorter articles, whilst the top performing articles are often over 5,700 words!
What this means is that to add real value that people will appreciate and share you need to really get into the details so you become the authority on the topic.
As you can see this is a short form Blog which means my engagement and traffic won’t be as good as long form however, I share bite sized tips and strategies regularly to balance this out 🙂
